Balance bikes do not have pedals or front/rear brakes. The rider sits on the balance bike and scoots along using their feet. Balance bikes are lighter (and therefore easier to carry) than pedal bikes because they have far less components. Pedal bikes have pedals and front/rear brakes. Our 12 and 16" pedal bikes come with colour-matched stabilisers (training wheels). Our junior pedal bikes look like mini adult bikes, and come with lots of features including colour-matched mudguards and chainguards, proper pneumatic tyres for smooth cycling, handmade wicker baskets, comfy sprung saddles and a classic ding-dong bell.
